Why Keygrade Exists
Keys have quietly shaped human history — locking up treasuries, opening prison cells, starting the first automobiles, guarding embassy doors. Collectors have chased them for decades, but without a shared standard, the market has been a wild west of guesswork, forged provenance, and wildly inconsistent pricing.
Keygrade fixes that. We inspect, authenticate, and grade keys on a transparent 1–100 scale, factoring in age, maker's marks, metal composition, wear pattern, and historical documentation — then seal each piece in a tamper-evident Keygrade capsule with a unique registry number.
How It Works
1. Submit Ship your key to our lab using a prepaid, insured Keygrade mailer.
2. Inspect Our numismatist-trained examiners assess metallurgy, tooling marks, patina authenticity, and cross-reference maker archives dating back to the 1700s.
3. Grade Your key receives a Keygrade Score (1–100), a condition designation (Mint / Estate / Relic / Fragment), and a provenance report.
4. Encapsulate The key is sealed in a museum-grade acrylic holder etched with its registry ID — permanently verifiable online.
